I graduated from Moody High School in 2002, and went on to attend the University of Montevallo where I earned a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Education of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing in 2006. I earned my Master’s Degree in Special Education from the University of West Alabama in 2008.

I worked a resource teacher at Odenville Middle School for one year where I helped 7th and 8th graders with reading and math. I was an itinerant teacher for the deaf and hard of hearing children in St. Clair County for 5 years, and I am currently working on my 6th year as the small group setting teacher at Moody Elementary School. I was named the St. Clair County's Teacher of the Year in 2016 and I've also received ABC 33/40's Benchmark Teacher of the Week Award. My twelve years of teaching has flown by and I am so thankful to be your child's teacher for my thirteenth year in education!

My goal at MES is to provide students with the best learning environment possible to foster a love of learning.  I want my students to continuously develop both academically and socially so they can become contributing members to their community.

I am married to Jake, and we have a son named Evan.  In my spare time I like to read, exercise, play with our dog, and go to the beach. I love root beer, pizza, and anything chocolate! I am very blessed to have a job I enjoy and I look forward to a great year!
