Subjects Taught
2nd Grade

I have a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education from Jacksonville State University and a Master's Degree in Early Childhood Education from The University of Alabama at Birmingham. I achieved National Board Teacher Certification in December 2018. Over the past 17 years I have taught pre-school, kindergarten, first grade, and second grade. This will be my 9th year teaching second grade at MES.

I have been married 13 years to my husband, Jeremy Adams. We have two children, Anna Beth and Sam. Anna Beth is in sixth grade, and Sam is in kindergarten. I spend a lot of time with my family playing outside, swimming, watching Anna Beth play softball, and going to church. I teach children's church and serve on the children's council at our church. When I have time on my own, I love to read and bake.

My wish for my children is that they love learning as much as I do. I want them to get excited about science, math, and reading! I want them to spend their free time reading because they've discovered how magnificent a good book can be. I admire the curiosity and wonder of children. I hope to inspire them and encourage them to always want to learn more and to dream big.

A few of my favorite things:

Books- Charlotte's Web, The Giver, To Kill a Mockingbird, Gone With The Wind, anything by James Patterson

Movie- It's A Wonderful Life

Vacations- Disney World, New York, any beach

Candy- Hot Tamales

Drink- Diet Coke

Food- Mexican food
