Don’t forget about our spring fling April 21st! If you are able to help, please send me a message through Remind. We are doing a Photo Session basket and a “Pamper Yourself” basket. I have gotten several donations already. I would love to get a foot spa as our basket to put everything in, so if you would like to donate please let me know! Thanks!!

We are finishing up our Charlotte’s Web unit. We will have a comprehension test on Chapter 9 of Charlotte’s Web (it is in our Storytown book!), as well as a spelling and vocabulary test. Multiplication test will be another review.

HOMEWORK:

-Study vocabulary, spelling, multiplication every night.

-Read for 15 minutes every night.

-Complete math homework and return on Friday.

-Email paragraph summary by Thursday night.

We are continuing unit on Charlotte’s Web. We will not have a test on it until March 24th. We are comparing and contrasting with our story Spiders and their Webs and will have a comprehension test on that story this week. This Friday, we will have a comprehension, spelling, vocabulary, and multiplication test. From here on out, our multiplication tests will be a review of all sets.

We are doing a novel study of Magic Treehouse - Civil War on Sunday for the next two weeks! We’ll learn all about an important time in history! Our comprehension/vocabulary test and spelling test will be this Friday. We have been completing a study guide as we read the book. Look for this in your child’s binder! Biography projects are also due Friday!

We will also have a chapter 6 (division) test on Thursday. A study guide is in your child’s binder. As always, if it is returned the day of the test they will receive 5 extra points.

lend: to allow someone to borrow

volunteer: someone who works without being paid

We have started a biography unit. Information about the biography project went home last week. Please look over this and let me know if you have questions! Posters will be due January 27th!

Our historical fiction/biography unit will last the month of January. We will read Me & Uncle Romie this week. Comprehension and vocabulary tests this story will be THIS Friday, January 13th.

Parents,

We have been having a great time in our class! I am enjoying the students so much! This week we will be learning about communities around the world. This will be a two week unit, so our comprehension, vocabulary, and spelling test will be on September 9th. This week, we will have a math test (place value, rounding, and addition), a subject and predicate test, and another whole group cold read test.

We will have our first BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) day on THURSDAY!! I can’t wait! Please send in a device (tablet or laptop, no phones please) if you have one available. If your child does not have a device to bring in, don’t worry, I have some!

Parents,

Please sign up for Class Dojo if you have not already. It’s a great way to keep track of your child’s behavior! We have some fun incentives that you can find in your child’s “Leave at Home” section. While Class Dojo has a messaging feature, I prefer to use Remind for communication. Class Dojo does not alert me when I receive messages, so sometimes it might take longer for me to reply that if you send a message through Remind.

We will only have a spelling and vocabulary test this week. We will be doing our first “Cold Read” test on Friday instead of a comprehension test. We will do it whole group in order for students to learn how to complete the test.
